The Premise
What Is Hollowbourn?
Hollowbourn is built around the Hollow-touched: souls marked in the instant they crossed out of Aelunis and into the mortal realm. Where an ordinary life would end, theirs does not. Something pulls them into the Hollow instead, a realm caught between what is and what comes after, and from there they always return, though never without a price. Items and hard-won skill can be lost on the way back.
Six gods watch this world, and every school of magic traces back to one of them. Three powers (the Crown, the Rival, and the Discord) divide its towns, but their rivalry is backdrop, not a side you have to pick.
No Classes
A Hollow-touched soul shapes their own path, with no single school or role to be locked into.
Skills Grow With Use
Every skill improves the more you call on it.
Groups Welcome
Travel with others when you want company, go alone when you don't. Never required.
The Realm
A Kingdom Divided
Calren
Seat of the Crown. Proud and ceremonial, it faces the sea as though daring it to approach.
Grivastel
Home of the Rival. Built over crypts, held up by the Rival's coin, and slow to forgive the Crown's taxes.
Kelgrim
Carved from the bones of the Kraghold. The Discord's stronghold, and no friend to the others.
